Best Packaging Ever.

I love coffee, so I was pretty happy when Yort got me this for my birthday:

It IS pretty strong, but unfortunately it's not very good. But then again, I like to grind my own, so maybe that's the difference.

Also, for those of you who, like me, hate clowns -- Here's my Halloween jack-o-lantern.

It steals souls.

  1. That clown made me pee a little. I may never sleep again. Thanks.

I'm not fond of clowns. I just like it when they pack in that little car.

You are a punkin' genius! HB (late), BTW.

I think clowns are pretty sexy. Must be something to do with the big shoes.

  4. Awesome pumpkin! Great name for a coffee. Too bad it sucks. Where did he get it? I know someone that would totally get a great laugh out of that for the holidays...

What's the jar of Vaseline used for?

    ReplyDelete
  7. The Vaseline is to put on the cut surfaces, so they don't shrivel and rot as fast.

    Also, I *really* like Halloween.

  8. I'm impressed. My 6 yr. old asked me to carve a "scary clown" -- but mine just ended up looking like a Carol Channing after a lobotomy.

I guess that's not so bad.

    :-P

  9. That is just plain f*cking scary.

  10. Maybe you can blend the scary coffee with some of your home-ground - it might perk you up more and taste more tolerable at the same time. It also might be the case that the coffee was sitting around on the shelf too long - ground coffee has a shelf life, even in an airtight package. It's why I always refrigerate mine; I only have it on hand for house guests, which I don't have terribly often.

  15. here's where I burst your bubble. The strong flavor in coffee has nothing to do with caffeine, but with the dark roasting of the coffee bean itself....

    Or so I hear...

  16. Totally correct. Also has a lot to do with the coarseness of the grind, and the water/coffee ratio, and the type of coffee bean and as someone pointed out -- how old it is....which was kinda my point.

Great marketing can sell anything. At least once.

  17. Looks like your pumpkin got into your new coffee before you did...

My word verification, is motyroma. Is that some new coffee word?

Well I wasn't going to leave a comment on theis post, as what I wanted to say had already been said, but then I saw my word verification was "tremp" - gee, thanks! I really appreciate it...

P.S. I do love the scary clown pumpkin!

If you are a Halloween aficionado, have you seen the Extreme Pumpkins website? www.extremepumpkins.com The insane genius who runs the site had published two books on how to create the most flammable, outrageous Halloween displays imaginable.

Love the name of the coffee, though the fact that it tastes bad doesn't surprise me. I'm always disappointed at the difference between how good it smells and how bad it tastes, no matter WHO grinds it.

  20. Ya - that's too bad the coffee is no good. Maybe just keep the bag and fill it with your own beans. Good for a morning laugh each day!

  21. I don't think you can complain about the taste of something like that. They don't promise that it will taste good, or eve hint that it might. They make one promise, and it sounds like they lived up to it.
