NYS buggery.

I've been seeing these signs all over lately, and I couldn't figure out what they were:

I finally had a minute to look it up on-line and it turns out that the state is now requiring National Grid to clean off power trucks and earth-moving equipment at the end of each power line corridor before taking the show on the road to another area.

Supposedly, this will help to prevent the spread of damaging bugs and other hitchhiking critters from one section of the state to another.

I guess this makes more sense than what I had been picturing:

Sometimes it's more fun inside my head.

  1. Hahahaha! Love that picture.

But invasive species are a real problem, just check out the stories about python hunts in the Everglades. Glad they're being proactive.

    Peace <3

  3. A clean bug must ruduce their urge to invade ? Did they have little shower stalls or bathtubs set up for the bugs to clean themselves ? If so, then that's some rightious, outside the box thinking right there. Ha ha ha ha ha

  4. I would have just called it Truck Cleaning Station...their name was so much more fun and important sounding.

Take the alien and put him into a shower, singing and wearing a shower cap - that is what was happening in *my* head. So, yeah.....

    1. yes! I kept picturing an alien in a old cowboy tub, with a scrub brush.

  6. In the summer they go topless at the cleaning station..

  7. :) Yep - was going there myself. That picture is perfect!

  8. Invasive species' personal hygiene has really gone to hell lately. Passive aggressive tips like these always work.

Like next time you're in a group of people, single out one person and offer them a tic-tac. Guaranteed paranoia.
