Now you see him....

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The trial of Saddam Hussein, held up on Wednesday when the ousted Iraqi president refused to appear, was about to resume around 1:45 p.m. (1045 GMT), court officials indicated.

They told reporters covering the trial to take up their seats in the court after a delay of several hours.

"Refused to appear?" How is this even possible? Does he suddenly have the power of invisibility or something?

Just knock him over and drag him into the courtroom by his leg irons if you have to. Jesus.

  1. I agree. Too bad we just can't shoot him and get it overwith already.

  2. I can't believe he can just opt out. For that matter I can't really get my head around a lot of the crap he's been pulling like threatening the judge. We're clearly dealing with a different system of justice.

  3. It's a system of something. I don't know if "justice" is the word I'd use.

  4. UGH! the man's a lunatic. i agree. drag is boney butt to the courtroom and put him in a cryroom, so he can't continue to disrupt the proceedings with his whiney rants and threats.

  5. I'd like to say something intelligent, but I'm pretty ignorant about the situation.

That's the story of my life.

  7. I think the guys that captured him should have taken care of him right then. Imagine how much simply it would have been:

BLAM! BLAM! "Whoops! Sorry sir, it sure looked to ME like he was resisting capture! I guess we'll never know now..."

  10. Stupid to shoot him, then you make a martyr of him, in the eyes of those still loyal. Shame that he didn't take the route Adolf did, in his day, though.

  11. yeah, don't shoot him. But don't let him run the show, for god's sake.

  12. The whole idea of him threatening the judge, interrupting the entire process with his loud antics and now refusing to attend is beyond belief. Just incredible.
