Damn, people. You're lucky to be alive.

Those are some crazy-assed stories! Regardless of which comment I pick, I will need to see this chinese bus-stealing video. I just want to get that out there right up front.

I'll try to pick my favorite story by the end of this weekend. It's going to be a tough choice, no doubt about it. I may have to pull together a team of professional drinkers to see if I can get some sort of majority rule.

In other news, a buddy of mine dropped off a bunch of old wooden water skis a couple of weeks ago. He just purchased a little camp in the Adirondacks, and he wanted me to make him something out of them. So here's his Christmas present:

I'll be back shortly with the announcement of the winner, and maybe a Christmas story if I can think of one....

  7. Hey thanks! It was a lot of fun to make, but a little nerve-wracking since I couldn't just go to the lumber store and pick up an extra ski if I made a bad cut...

Freakin' amazing on the chair, dude, very cool!

I wish I had some funny drunk-ass story with which to regale you, but I got drunk exactly once in my life. I didn't enjoy the sensation and I've never see any reason to do it again. I was even responsible enough to make sure I had a designated driver. I've got TONS of hysterical stories, but not about drinking. Maybe next time.

  16. Love the chair. Very creative.

Thought I would share my drunk story anyway:

I was the maid of honor at my best friends wedding when I was 21. Got totally loaded at the reception and it didn't help that they didn't serve the food for two hours. The bride and groom decided instead of smashing the wedding cake into each others faces, they would smash it into the best man and the maid of honor. Apparently, I decided pay back was in order and got the bride in a head lock and dragged her over to the cake and shoved her face in it!
I had no recollection of this moment until the next morning when my brothers girlfriend informed me of the incident with some sage advice...'You had better call her!'
I do not drink at weddings anymore.

  17. I need that chair! I don't have water skis to send you. Would a pair of Homer Simpson slippers suffice?

Very nice work with the chair. I love the way you used the fins. A a fellow woodworker, I spent as much time scrutinizing your shop as looking at the chair!

  19. Chair Extraordinaire.

No longer 'just a bean,' eh? What does the new quote mean?

  20. Matt, I picked the two coldest days of the year so far to work on that thing...

BC, it's a quote from the horrible "megashark vs giant octopus" movie.

  22. The chair is awesome.

I am saddened I missed the contest, as I've got an unfortunately large number of stories to tell. . . however, the "vomit spewing pinwheel" and the Chinese bus actually made me laugh out loud. Most of the rest sounded like an average Friday night. ;)
