What a day for a daydream.

If you live in any of the states that have the mega millions lottery, you've probably seen the commercial (the one with the bubble following people around the city) at least a hundred times.

The other night I was watching TV and that commercial came on again. I burst out laughing, because it was the first time I noticed this bit:

That's just so random it's awesome.

OMG...I watched the commercial on YouTube, and it's a guy in a gorilla suit. I guess Gorillas can dream too.

  4. So long as they are over 18, technically they can buy one, too, right?

I want to see a gorilla in a human suit for the next commercial. Janet Reno. The gorilla should be able to fit into that.

  9. judging by nobody else checking him out, i assume it's staged.
as in, they chucked him in there on purpose, purely for your enjoyment

now you should buy a lottery ticket

  10. Kiki, I know -- I just thought it was awesome that the ad agency included him.

  11. Let's hope that if he hits it big in the lottery he buys a more realistic looking gorilla suit.

sounds like a visual cognition experiment which has been used to test people's selective vision and attention. The most famous was the passing of the basketball experiment which really blew me away! ... i think if you're interested, check this site:

quite fascinating how we don't notice some things that are right in our faces...

Dang it, I DO live in a Mega Millions state, but I haven't seen any commercial with bubbles following people. I feel so deprived. Don't suppose I could convince the Big Guy we have to move back to NY because they have inferior commercials down here, do you?

  15. Hey, so I need to know... Did you ever see any real money for the smallaa contest? Supposedly I won this week. I don't want to tell my husband that, and have him plan the money out to the penny until I'm sure, but what if he asks me when he gets home tonight? Help!

  16. sera, holy shit!! I totally did not see the moonwalking bear.

Jen, I am waiting a full 2 weeks to make sure the money is real.

  17. Badass geek -- I think the age of consent for gorillas is 17 in NY.

Jorm, thanks, but it's obviously not me. I don't take the subway.

Ian, there's not much room in there with all that bullshit.

  18. Now if we could just see Christy Lane singing X-mass songs to a Gorilla that would be grand.
